SMO allows users to do things like bookmarking any website through tagging websites such as deli.cio.us. Allowing people to save / tag the online resource in a public space allowing them the opportunity to see who else is reading and tagging the particular online resource. The goal of SMO is to leverage new visitors and create them into ‘loyal site community members’. Through all of these practices we are trying to increase our search engine optimization therefore we must remain ‘linkable’. Through the applications of these practices people will be able to find us in more ways than one. No longer is it only about rank such as social engine optimization but it is also about presence, are we locatable in numerous spaces and if not, then why? Well...still thinking...????.....fine....let me tell u in my own way......letz first start with Social Media,which is hitting the market nowadays much faster than RSS feed.The concept continues to evolve, and more and more internet marketers are looking for the next major way to fully leverage Social Media strategies for clients, products and services.SMO has the ability to attract a lot of web traffic to ur site in such a way which the regular search engines cannot do.

If we use social media tools such as blog,squidoo etc. to get as much traffic as possible to our site in order to participate in the relevant conversations then SMO is all about increasing the volume and richness of those interactions

The sites that help to SMO our web presence are:-Squidoo,Digg,Del.icio.us,YouTube,HubPages,BlueDot,Friendster

But the question which comes here is that is my website a social media friendly website and have I added the right things which will get my website into the new nurturing field of SMO?
